Your top three fixes

For doctors, the NMC guidelines (6 Oct 2026) say a doctor shall not request or share patient reviews for promotion. So this score does not reward asking for reviews. It rewards a complete, accurate and well-kept profile, which is what helps patients find you. Read the guidelines in plain English.

Questions clinics ask

Why does my Google profile matter so much?

When someone searches a specialty with an area name, Google shows a map with three practices before the normal results. Google picks them by relevance, distance and how complete and trusted the profile is. A complete, accurate profile is the part you control.

Can I add keywords to my business name?

No. Google's rules ask for the real name on your signboard. Adding words like "best IVF centre" can get the profile suspended. It is also a superiority claim under clause 8.1(ix) of the NMC guidelines.

Can I ask patients to leave reviews?

The NMC guidelines say a doctor shall not request or share patient reviews for professional promotion on social media, and shall not buy or manipulate reviews. Replying politely to reviews patients leave on their own, without sharing any patient details, is a good practice.

My profile shows "Permanently closed" or "Verification required". What now?

Do not create a new profile; that makes duplicates. Recover or verify the existing one from the account that owns it. If you are not sure which account owns it, we can help you find out.
